Bermuda has a lot of caves...specifically limestone caves. The abundance of caves will become apparent to the traveller who wanders about the islands and has an interest in natural formations. Even Capt. John Smith, who obviously had many things on his mind other than spelunking, made note of the dark and cumbersome caves when he touched upon Bermuda's shores. Keep in mind Bermuda is island topography, and if you compare the caves of the USA, which are formed under different circumstances and geological phenomena, you will feel disappointed because Bermuda's caves are smaller. However, they are dark and mysterious, and make for great exploration on your vacation. After Crystal Caves, Leamington Cave is next best.
Leamington Cave features a memorable Statue of Liberty formation, which is an amber-colored structure amongst the stalactites and stalagmites. You'll find Leamington Cave on Harrington Sound Rd. in Hamilton Parish.
