Bermuda Dining and Restaurants

Dining in Bermuda is an event, and people dress up for it. Bring clothing that's at least slightly formal-looking, like a dress and nice shoes for women. Men, you'll need a suit coat and tie if you plan on eating at a nice restaurant. Of course there are some more casual restaurants in Bermuda, but really going out to dinner in a t-shirt and flip flops is just plain unusual in this proper-minded country. And of course don't even think about going anywhere, especially an eating establishment, without a shirt. There are no fast food chains in Bermuda, so chances are you'll find yourself entering a restaurant at least once during your vacation, and when in Rome...

Bermuda has a rich history with varied influences, and this is demonstrated in the cuisine. You'll find Caribbean, American and British food, as well as countless hybrid dishes that will satisfy your palate, no matter what your gastronomic tastes. Some of the specialties are shark hash and mussel pie. Dining is expensive in Bermuda, but you will get what you pay for. In other words, quality is excellent, so your money will be well-spent.

Some travellers will forgo choice and chance, and opt for a hotel meal plan. This can be an economical solution for many travellers who don't relish the idea of finding their own places to eat or sampling the mussel pie. There are also lodging options where you get your own kitchen. This can also be an economical way to go. There are over 150 restaurants in Bermuda...that's seven per square mile, so for most travellers who want to experience as much as possible, dining out is one way to fully enjoy the experience of visiting Bermuda. For those visitors, here's a list of just some of the great restaurants across Bermuda.
