The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute is one of the newest additions to the sightseeing scene in Bermuda. It's just gigantic, and full of exhibits, displays, an auditorium, high-tech video displays, all dedicated to learning about the ocean around Bermuda in a fun and fascinating way. The Institute is two stories high, and sits right in the harbor on E. Broadway in Hamilton. Don't miss the Ocean Discovery Centre...actually it's hard to miss since it's the centerpiece of the Institute, holding over 40 different displays. There are lectures and film series held here, and you can eat in the restaurant and visit the gift shops.
On the lower level look for a scale model of a sunken ship and soundtracks with marine animal sounds to test your id skills. It's open every day from 9 to 5, and there is an admission charge.
