Elys Harbour

West End Area

Ely's Harbour is small and there are pleasure boats zipping in from and out to the sparkling blue ocean. You can get there via Middle Road, west of Somerset Bridge. It makes a good day trip when combined with a visit to the Royal Naval Dockyard or even just to Lagoon Park, if you're on bicycle. In fact, you can make a day out of exploring the West End, with Ely's Harbour as

your starting point or your home base. If you're starting out in Hamilton, as are many vacationers, you can take a ferry from that city, and get off the ferry at Somerset Bridge. This puts you next to Ely's Harbour, where you can start exploring the West End. The trip down the twisty road filled with switchbacks is an adventure, and you won't regret it when you see how beautiful Ely's Harbour is both up close and from the upper vantage points.
